How can I monitor my performance in the area of Supplier Diversity & Development (SD&D)?
Effective December 1, 2006, the Ariba standard purchasing metrics dashboard will include a 3-year historical comparison of total MWBE spend as well as a quarter-to-date for each year. This outlook can be drilled down by business area, commodity code and many other filters. The report is called the 3 Year MWBE report. Click here to download instructions on how to add it to your Ariba dashboard or click here to log into Ariba.
If the database does not identify any suppliers, what is my next step?
If you have problems finding a supplier, please contact your SD&D representative.
Where does Supplier Diversity fit into The Walt Disney Company's sourcing process?
The inclusion of diverse suppliers starts during the market analysis phase of the sourcing process, and like all suppliers, the diverse suppliers that are identified should be included in the supplier evaluation phase of your sourcing process. These are suggested suppliers, not recommended suppliers, and the preliminary SD&D screening should by no means substitute for the normal due diligence done with any supplier being considered.
What is Strategic Sourcing's track record for generating savings with diverse suppliers?
In FY06 those contracts that were awarded to MWBEs generated an additional 12% savings over the non-diverse bidders.
What are the metrics that strategic sourcing leadership use to measure our success in Supplier Diversity?
Metrics include the number of competitive bids received by diverse suppliers, incremental savings driven by MWBEs, the overall dollars spent with MWBEs, and percentage with diverse suppliers of overall spend.
Outside of strategic sourcing, who else receives SD&D information?
The Supplier Diversity Management Council (SDMC) and its members, as well as diversity business leads throughout the organization, receive regular updates on SD&D performance. The Strategic Sourcing & Procurement SVP also shares these metrics with our finance leads throughout the organization, including Tom Staggs.
Outside of TWDC, who do we share results with?
Outside of The Walt Disney Company, we share our SD&D performance with various advocacy organizations and media coalition partners.
